Multech participated in this project to develop an integrated strategy in mitigating flood hazard along the Keelong River, a major tributary passing through the metropolitan area of Taipei City in Taiwan. The study was conducted for Water Resources Bureau, Taiwan. The developed strategy included employing basin management measures to reducing storm runoff (installing detention ponds), improving urban drainage system (enlarging drainage pipes and installing pump stations), and channel improvement (including increasing bridge capacities, vegetation control, dredging, and raising levees). The study involved hydrologic, hydraulic, drainage, and sedimentation analyses.
